Dr. Jeffrey Salomone:
Dr Salomone is a native of Reno, NV, where he matriculated at the University of Nevada, Reno, and the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He then relocated to New Orleans, LA where he completed his Surgery residency and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship. Norman E McSwain, Jr, MD served as his residency Director. Jeff then joined the faculty of Emory University where he began his career as a Trauma / Critical Care surgeon based at Grady Memorial Hospital. During his 16 year tenure at Emory, he rose to the level of Associate Professor and served as Assistant Director of Grady EMS, Director of the Trauma Sustainment program for US Army Ranger Special Operations Combat Medics, and the Interim Trauma Medical Director for Grady. For 15 years he was the Atlanta Police Surgeon, caring for Atlanta Police officers injured in the line of duty.

In 2013, he became the Division Chief of Trauma / Surgical Critical Care and Trauma Medical Director for the Maricopa Integrated Health System (previously Maricopa Medical Center) in Phoenix, Az. In 2016, Dr Salomone joined a private surgery practice in Mesa, AZ where he was named Director of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care and the Trauma Medical Director for Banner Desert Medical Center (BDMC). Over the next 6 years, he led BDMC to organize and opened both Adult (Level II) and Pediatric (Level II) Trauma programs and achieved successful verification with the American College of Surgeons.

Having become nationally certified as a Paramedic during medical school, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has been a central theme throughout his career. For more than a decade he was an Associate Medical Director for the PreHospital Trauma Life Support program of the National Association of EMTs. He also served two terms on the national Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons, including 4 years as Chairman of the EMS Committee. Dr. Salomone was honored with being named to the inaugural National EMS Advisory Council (NEMSAC) of the US Dept of Transportation, and also served a second term on NEMSAC. Jeff was President of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, serving from 2012 to 2013. He currently resides in Tempe, Az.
