The U.S. Army's Ranger Regiment implemented a Ranger First Responder Program, which was a spinoff from the Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) program. This program aims to ensure every Ranger is trained and equipped to provide immediate lifesaving care to fellow soldiers in the event of an injury on the battlefield. The training curriculum generally includes lessons on controlling massive hemorrhage, managing airways, treating chest injuries, preventing hypothermia, recognizing and treating shock, and other field-relevant medical skills.
The goal of the regiment is to significantly reduce the number of Rangers who die of wounds sustained in combat by simply targeting optimal medical capability in close proximity to the point of wounding.
The Ranger Bleeder Control Kit provides the tools needed by Ranger Medics to help prevent potentially lethal wounds sustained in combat. Proven effective in preserving life in the field, this kit includes items that improve response time and execution of advanced trauma management.
