The DOK is compact enough to store in a cargo pocket, glove box, or attached to a roll bar or protective shield in a patrol vehicle — ensuring that a responding officer always has hemorrhage control and wound management capability nearby, not just in a trauma bag in the trunk.
The included SOF® Tourniquet is one of two CoTCCC-recommended windlass tourniquets and has extensive field validation in military and law enforcement use. The OLAES® 4-inch Modular Bandage provides pressure dressing, wound packing, and occlusive chest seal functionality in a single device — notable efficiency for a compact kit. The Kit w/Combat Gauze variant adds CoTCCC-recommended kaolin-impregnated gauze for deep wound packing where a tourniquet cannot be applied, such as junctional or truncal wounds.
The DOK is a foundational kit for departments equipping patrol officers with individual bleeding control supplies.
