  2. Participants will be able to discuss ultrasound findings in cardiac tamponade, pulmonary embolism, heart failure and lower lobe pneumonia

Presentation Outline

  • 4 clinical cases of right upper quadrant pain
    • Acute Exacerbation of Heart Failure: Ultrasound findings – B lines, poor LV EF, plethoric IVC
    • Pulmonary Embolism: Ultrasound findings – Trace pleural effusion, dilated right heart/right heart strain, plethoric IVC
    • Cardiac Tamponade: Ultrasound findings – Pericardial fluid, right ventricular diastolic collapse, plethoric IVC
    • Lower Lobe Pneumonia: Ultrasound findings – Consolidation, dynamic air bronchograms, hyperdynamic LV EF, collapsing IVC
