HOT OFF THE PRESS | ALiEM MEdIC Series Book, Volume 3

MEdIC Series Book, Volume 3It has been 4 years since we launched the ALiEM Medical Education in Cases (MEdIC) Series, and we are very proud to have had 4 years of excellent engagement and participation from the FOAM audience with our interactive monthly discussions. This season has been a whirlwind. Together, we have explored challenging patient, learner, physician wellness, ethical, and assessment conundrums. We want to thank all of those who have written cases, acted as experts, and commented on the cases.

We are thrilled to announce that a compilation of the third MEdIC season (last year’s cases) is available for free download.

A Big Thank You

We are grateful for the safe and supportive digital space the MEdIC all those who contribute to the MEdIC community continue to foster. The final product for each of these cases are shared reflections on medical education that represent a truly remarkable collaboration across hierarchies and geographic borders. Thank you!

Hopefully you have had the opportunity to see our recent “Must-Read” cases for senior residents and new attendings. These are throwbacks to previous MEdIC cases that we feel are particularly worth sharing with individuals transitioning to these new roles.

Please share the e-books from this and the previous seasons (Season 1, Season 2) widely. Our hope is that educators and learners will benefit from the collective wisdom. If you have used a MEdIC case in your teaching or learning, please fill out the below survey to let us know more. We are excited to learn if and how they are being used in other forums. And in case you’re wondering, the season 4 cases will be compiled into an e-book in the coming year, now that our season has wrapped up!

If you have a case that you would like to be discussed on the MEdIC forum please contact us and see the author case guidelines here. We look forward to learning with and from you in Season 5 which launches September 2017!
