Welcome new blog team member: Dr. Matt Astin

Welcome superstar Dr. Matt Astin to the ALiEM blog family. Matt is the Clinical Assistant Professor of EM and IM at Medical Center of Central Georgia, Mercer University School of Medicine. We’re incredibly happy here to add him as our new secret weapon in the social media and FOAM arena. Here is brief bio by Matt:

I went to medical school at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia before completing an Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine residency at East Carolina University. I am now back home in Macon, GA, teaching medical students and the occasional off-service resident. I am the medical director for the ED observation unit, serve as the department liaison to trauma, and serve as a ward attending for the Internal Medicine residency. I hope to bring new ideas to the people I work with, and this blog, regarding EM, internal medicine, trauma care, critical care, and education.
