North American Rescue® (NAR) Public Access Bleeding Control (PABC) Stations provide bystanders and initial first responders with quick and easy access to essential medical equipment to stop life-threatening bleeding in public buildings and populated public areas. This PABC Station includes a clear wall mounted storage case equipped with eight (8) Vacuum Sealed Individual Bleeding Control Kits contained in an easy-to-open nylon carrying case. Also included is one (1) NAR Responder QuikLitter™ for moving injured casualties. Designed to be mounted on a wall at a designated location or to be co-located with Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs), the NAR Public Access Bleeding Control Station provides publically accessible medical supplies to control major bleeding. The rugged storage case provides both physical and environmental protection. It also contains an eyelet that allows for a secondary safety seal to easily identify if the station has been opened or tampered with. The clear design of the storage case allows visibility at any angle and the external mounting tabs enable the case to be easily installed on any wall. The internal design includes a wire shelf that supports the Public Access Bleeding Control Pack and the exterior has rounded corners to help prevent injury if bumped into and comes complete with the mounting hardware. It is slightly smaller than our larger Wall Mounted Kit and is housed in a wall-mounted case. The cabinet can be locked or integrated into your current alarm system. The removable hard case has a top-mounted easy-carry handle. Each kit arrives with our individual sub-kits and is easily identifiable by number, color code, text, or icons. The kits are also bilingual with English text prominently displayed and supported by Spanish sub-titles. The center of the Tramedic® system is the removable decision tree or flowchart, that is attached to the center of the hard case. This chart is your guide to prioritizing treatments and selecting which kit to use in a given situation. The back side of the chart, printed with high visibility yellow and the word casualty, can be used as a signal or marker to guide rescue personnel to those in the greatest need of help. All sub kits contain individual instructions for the included components both by text and graphics. The compact kit has a well laid-out interior that allows easy access to the components inside. It can be easily stored in places such as a classroom cabinet, desk drawer, or backpack.The included instructions prioritize which injuries to treat first with the appropriate components. The instructions detail how to treat massive spurting blood loss with a tourniquet and how to treat oozing dark red blood with direct pressure using the gauze and hemostatic agent.This exact kit is currently implemented into every public school in the state of South Carolina. The Tramedic® Bleeding Control Kit was selected in a team effort by state partners including Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, the Medical University of South Carolina, Palmetto Health, and Grand Strand Health. They partnered with the state's HPP Advisory Council and South Carolina DHEC to facilitate the project.
