The legacy copy for this bundle stated that the iTClamp® is evidence-based standard; we have not annotated it, because the device does not appear on the evidence-based standard-device list we verify against, and an unverified recommendation claim is worse than none. That is a deliberate omission pending confirmation, not a judgement on the device — the iTClamp® is a cleared wound-closure device and the clinical rationale for it in neck and junctional wounds stands on its own. Note also that Celox™ Rapid Ribbon, Celox™ Rapid and Celox™ Gauze are three different products with different SKUs; this bundle contains the Ribbon. Using the iTClamp® assumes training in advanced hemorrhage control, and there is no tourniquet in this bundle — it supplements a kit rather than replacing one.

Working sequence for a deep junctional wound: fill the cavity with the plain gauze to establish a pressure base, add the Celox™ Rapid Ribbon against the bleeding surface and hold firm sustained direct pressure while the chitosan forms a clot, then close the skin over the pack with the iTClamp® so the hematoma is contained under hydrostatic pressure. What is the clinical rationale for combining the iTClamp with hemostatic gauze?

The iTClamp seals the skin surface and creates a contained hematoma under pressure to prevent further blood loss. Hemostatic gauze (such as Celox Rapid Ribbon) packed into the wound cavity before iTClamp placement augments clot formation through chitosan-mediated hemostasis — particularly valuable for coagulopathic patients whose natural clotting cascade is impaired by hypothermia, acidosis, or dilution. Together, they address both deep cavity and surface hemorrhage.

Is the iTClamp CoTCCC recommended?

Yes. The Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC) recommends the iTClamp as a primary treatment modality — alongside a CoTCCC-recommended hemostatic dressing and direct manual pressure — for hemorrhage control in craniomaxillofacial injuries and penetrating neck injuries with external hemorrhage. This recommendation was codified in TCCC Guidelines 19-04 (June 2019).

Can the Celox Rapid Ribbon in this bundle be replaced with another hemostatic gauze?

The bundle comes as configured with Celox Rapid Ribbon. Celox is a chitosan-based hemostatic agent that does not require platelet function for efficacy, making it a strong choice for trauma patients with dilutional or consumption coagulopathy. Other CoTCCC-recommended hemostatics (Combat Gauze with kaolin, ChitoGauze) may be substituted in the workflow, but this bundle is pre-assembled with Celox for standardized training and logistical simplicity.

Is this bundle appropriate for all levels of first responder?

The bundle is designed for tactical medics, paramedics, advanced EMTs, and combat lifesavers who have received hemorrhage control training including wound packing and iTClamp application. The iTClamp can be applied by any trained first responder — documented application times average under 60 seconds. The wound packing component requires hands-on training to achieve proper depth and pressure. This bundle is not intended for untrained lay users.

How does this compare to buying the three components separately?
