What is the 5.11 FLEX-HT™ mounting system and how does it work?

The FLEX-HT™ system is a dual-mode attachment built into the back of the 5.11 FLEX Tourniquet Pouch. In vertical mode, a molded FLEX-HT™ backer clips directly onto MOLLE/PALS webbing rows without additional hardware. In horizontal mode, integrated hook-and-loop straps wrap around a belt or horizontal MOLLE row. A third tuckable flap enables attachment inside a plate carrier's elastic panel slot. This versatility allows one pouch to work across duty belts, chest rigs, plate carriers, and rucksack straps.

What tourniquets fit the 5.11 FLEX Tourniquet Pouch?

The 5.11 FLEX Tourniquet Pouch is designed to accept all major windlass tourniquets, including the CAT Gen 7, SOFTT-W, SAM XT, and TMT. Its internal elastic compression webbing adjusts to slight size differences between models. The pouch dimensions are 6.0" H × 2.0" L × 1.5" D — sufficient for any folded windlass tourniquet in standard tactical configuration.

Why does the 5.11 FLEX TQ Pouch use a Hypalon® pull tab?

Hypalon® is a chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber valued for its resistance to chemicals, UV degradation, abrasion, and extreme temperatures. It maintains gripability in wet, bloody, or oily conditions where nylon webbing tabs can become slippery. The Hypalon® pull tab on the 5.11 FLEX Pouch ensures reliable one-handed extraction under stress or with gloves, a critical consideration for tourniquet deployment where seconds matter.

Can the 5.11 FLEX Tourniquet Pouch be mounted horizontally on a belt?

Yes. The integrated hook-and-loop straps on the FLEX-HT™ backer wrap around a standard 2" duty belt or tactical belt in horizontal orientation, positioning the pouch parallel to the beltline. This is a popular configuration for law enforcement officers who need the tourniquet accessible but low-profile under a jacket or vest. Horizontal mounting is also available on MOLLE/PALS webbing rows on chest rigs and plate carriers.

What colors does the 5.11 FLEX Tourniquet Pouch come in?

The 5.11 FLEX Tourniquet Pouch is available in three colors: Black, Ranger Green, and Coyote Tan. All three colorways are standard NATO-compatible tactical colors that integrate cleanly with most military, law enforcement, and civilian tactical gear platforms.
