    Der Esmark-Verband ist ein latexfreier elastischer Verband, der sich ideal zur Verstärkung der Platzierung von Druckverbänden oder Wundkompressen eignet. Durch die flache Form des Verbands kann er klein genug verpackt werden, um in verdeckte IFAKs wie die Außentaschen unserer Uniformed Medical Kits zu passen.

    Der Esmark ist wirklich praktisch, wenn er verwendet wird, um Wundpackungen mit blutstillender Gaze an Ort und Stelle zu halten. Oft wurde diese Aufgabe Druckverbänden wie dem OLAES oder dem israelischen ETD überlassen, aber der Esmark kann in bestimmten Fällen dessen Platz einnehmen und die ETDs bei einer anderen Verletzung des Patienten oder bei einem ganz anderen Patienten verwenden, wodurch die Einsatzmöglichkeiten Ihres Kits erweitert werden.

    Obwohl es sich nicht um eine Aderpresse handelt und auch nicht als solche verwendet werden sollte, kann es bei richtiger Anwendung eine recht wirksame Blutungskontrolle darstellen.
