Is the EDC Wallet Kit small enough for pocket carry?

Yes. The NAR EDC Wallet Kit is designed specifically for pocket carry or flat storage alongside everyday carry items. Its compact wallet-style profile allows it to fit in a jacket pocket, cargo pants pocket, or small EDC bag without the bulk of a traditional IFAK pouch. Despite the compact format, it includes a C-A-T® tourniquet — the most critical item for life-threatening extremity bleeding.

What is the difference between the Basic and w/Combat Gauze EDC Wallet Kit?

The Basic EDC Wallet Kit includes a C-A-T® tourniquet, pressure dressing, S-rolled gauze, and gloves. The w/Combat Gauze variant replaces the S-rolled gauze with Z-Fold Combat Gauze® LE — a CoTCCC-recommended kaolin hemostatic dressing for wound packing. For anyone trained in hemorrhage control techniques, the w/Combat Gauze variant provides meaningfully better hemostatic capability for the same profile.

Who is the EDC Wallet Kit designed for?

The EDC Wallet Kit is designed for: law enforcement officers in plainclothes assignments; off-duty first responders; armed civilians who carry a firearm and want matching trauma capability; and anyone seeking a minimal-footprint trauma kit for vehicle, travel, or daily pocket carry. It is not designed to replace a full IFAK for operators who can carry one, but is the best available option for maximum concealment.

Does the EDC Wallet Kit contain CoTCCC-recommended supplies?

Yes. The C-A-T® tourniquet in all variants is the CoTCCC-recommended windlass tourniquet. The w/Combat Gauze variant adds Combat Gauze® LE, a CoTCCC-recommended hemostatic dressing. These two items address the M (Massive Hemorrhage) phase of MARCH — the most time-critical intervention in penetrating trauma.

Can the EDC Wallet Kit be used alongside a separate holster or concealed carry setup?

Yes. Many armed civilians and law enforcement officers clip or pocket the EDC Wallet Kit on the opposite side from their holster for bilateral access. Because the kit is flat and wallet-sized, it does not create printing (visible outline) under clothing or add significant weight. North American Rescue also makes the EDC Ankle Trauma Kit for operators who prefer ankle carry.

What is included in the EDC Wallet Kit?

The EDC Wallet Kit includes a C-A-T® Gen 7 tourniquet, HyFin® Vent Chest Seal, compressed gauze, and the EDC Wallet pouch — providing CoTCCC-aligned hemorrhage control and chest wound capability in wallet form factor. Exact contents and SKU are confirmed on the North American Rescue product page.

Are the supplies in the EDC Wallet Kit CoTCCC-recommended?

Yes. The C-A-T® Gen 7 tourniquet and HyFin® Vent Chest Seal included in the EDC Wallet Kit are CoTCCC-recommended items. These two items address the two leading causes of preventable trauma death: extremity hemorrhage and tension pneumothorax.

Is the EDC Wallet Kit appropriate for civilians with no medical training?

Yes, with a minimum of Stop the Bleed training. The kit's primary components — tourniquet and chest seal — are designed for bystander use and taught in civilian Stop the Bleed courses. No professional medical license is required. North American Rescue and MED-TAC International recommend Stop the Bleed certification for all kit carriers.

How does the EDC Wallet Kit differ from a traditional IFAK?

A traditional IFAK is typically carried on a vest, duty belt, or MOLLE system. The EDC Wallet Kit is designed for pocket carry in everyday environments — no carrier required. It trades volume and extended supply depth for maximum portability and social neutrality. For operational environments, an IFAK is preferred; for everyday civilian carry, the Wallet Kit provides practical trauma readiness.

Does the EDC Wallet Kit have a government NSN for procurement?

Individual components (C-A-T® Gen 7, HyFin® Vent) carry their own NSNs. The complete EDC Wallet Kit assembly NSN should be confirmed with North American Rescue or DLA. Contact MED-TAC International for institutional or bulk procurement support.
