What battery does the QUANTUM Charger charge?
The QUANTUM Charger (NAR item 35-0001) is designed exclusively to charge the QUANTUM Battery (item 35-0002), the 44V lithium rechargeable battery that powers the QUANTUM Blood & Fluid Warming System. It is not compatible with other battery systems and should only be used with genuine NAR QUANTUM batteries to avoid damage and ensure safe charging.
Is the QUANTUM Charger included in the complete QUANTUM system?
Yes. The complete QUANTUM Blood & Fluid Warming System (item 35-0006) includes one QUANTUM Controller (35-0003), one QUANTUM Battery (35-0002), one QUANTUM Charger (35-0001), and two Thermal Transfusion Sets. The Charger can also be purchased as a standalone replacement or backup item via item number 35-0001.
How important is it to keep the QUANTUM battery charged?
Battery charge state is critical to system performance. The QUANTUM battery must be fully charged to deliver the specified warming output of 100.4°F (38°C ± 2°C) within the 24-second warmup window, and to sustain warming capacity for the full rated 2 units of whole blood or 1,700 mL of IV fluids per charge. Units running repeated transfusion or warming missions should rotate batteries and recharge promptly using the dedicated charger to ensure operational readiness.
Can the QUANTUM Charger be used in the field?
The QUANTUM Charger is primarily intended for use at forward operating bases, forward surgical units, or other locations with access to electrical power. It is not a field-portable, battery-operated charging device. For extended operations without reliable power access, maintaining multiple charged QUANTUM batteries (item 35-0002) is the recommended approach to ensure continuous warming capability.
Where can I find the full QUANTUM system components?
MED-TAC International carries the complete QUANTUM ecosystem from North American Rescue, including the full QUANTUM Blood & Fluid Warming System (35-0006), the QUANTUM Controller (35-0003), QUANTUM Battery (35-0002), QUANTUM Charger (35-0001), Thermal Transfusion Set–Blood (35-0005), Thermal Infusion Set (35-0004), and the QUANTUM Blood Transfusion Kit (83-0028). What does the QUANTUM Charger charge?
The QUANTUM Charger (35-0001) is designed specifically to charge the QUANTUM 44V Lithium Battery (35-0002). It is not compatible with other battery systems.
What is the charge time for a QUANTUM battery?
Charge time specifications are available in the NAR QUANTUM system documentation. Contact MED-TAC for technical specifications.
Is the QUANTUM Charger compatible with standard AC power?
QUANTUM Charger power input specifications are in the NAR product documentation. Confirm compatibility with the power available at your staging or base location before deployment planning.
With QUANTUM being discontinued, should I stock additional chargers?
Yes. With NAR announcing QUANTUM discontinuation, spare parts including chargers and batteries will become scarce over time. Procure spares now to extend the operational service life of your existing QUANTUM systems.
Can one QUANTUM Charger charge multiple batteries?
The QUANTUM Charger charges one battery at a time (sequentially). For unit-level programs running multiple QUANTUM systems, calculate the number of chargers needed based on your battery count and operational tempo — more batteries and more systems may require multiple chargers for adequate rotation capacity.
