Does the TacMed Patrol Rifle Response Kit hold rifle magazines?

Yes. The PRRK pouch holds two 30-round M4/AR-15 style magazines externally, making it a combined ammunition and medical kit system. This eliminates the need for a separate medical pouch on an already crowded duty belt. The medical components are stored in the internal compartment while the rifle magazines are accessible on the front face of the pouch.

Does the Patrol Rifle Response Kit contain CoTCCC-recommended items?

Yes. The PRRK includes CoTCCC-recommended items: the SOF® Tactical Tourniquet-Wide for extremity hemorrhage control, OLAES® Modular Bandage for pressure dressing, Beacon Chest Seal 2-pack for penetrating thoracic wounds, and a Nasopharyngeal Airway with lubricant for airway management. These cover the primary CoTCCC interventions for the leading causes of preventable traumatic death.

How does the Patrol Rifle Response Kit attach to the duty belt?

The PRRK attaches to the duty belt via integrated snap buckles that allow the pouch to be worn full-time during patrol and quickly detached or reattached when needed. It is also MOLLE compatible for attachment to vests or other platforms. The kit is compatible with TacMed's Patrol Trauma Response Kit (using the Pouch-Attaching Strap) and select belt-mounted tourniquet holders for a modular medical system.

Is the Patrol Rifle Response Kit only available in black?

Yes. The PRRK (SKU MEDTAC0402) is available in Black only, consistent with standard law enforcement duty gear color conventions.

Can the Patrol Rifle Response Kit handle self-aid as well as buddy-aid?

Yes. The included SOF® TT-Wide tourniquet can be self-applied by a wounded officer to an extremity wound, and the NPA, OLAES® bandage, chest seals, gloves, and face shield are all appropriate for buddy-aid or civilian care. The kit is designed so that a patrol officer wounded in the field can apply the tourniquet themselves, and also treat a downed officer or civilian before EMS access.

The TacMed™ Patrol Rifle Response Kit holds two 30-round M4/AR15-style (5.56mm) magazines. The integrated magazine pouches are positioned on the face of the kit, with the trauma supplies in the main compartment behind them. This allows the officer to perform reloads from the kit without opening the medical section, keeping the trauma supplies clean and accessible.

Is the Patrol Rifle Response Kit worn full-time or only during critical incidents?

The Patrol Rifle Response Kit is designed to be worn either full-time on the duty belt or detached and quickly snapped on during critical incidents using the integrated buckles. Officers who prefer not to carry the full kit during routine patrol can remove it from the belt and re-attach it in seconds when moving to a critical incident response, rifle deployment, or active-threat call.
