What's the difference between the Advantage Pressure Bar and the Pressure Bar Set?

The Advantage® Pressure Bar (TADV-02) is the standalone single device with one large pressure head, optimized for proximal wound applications. The Advantage® Pressure Bar Set (TADV-01) includes the pressure bar plus three differently sized pressure heads on a MOLLE/pocket storage card, providing greater adaptability across wound sizes. The Set is recommended when the provider may encounter varied wound types and sizes; the standalone Bar is suitable when a specific application (e.g., proximal hemorrhage management) is the primary use case.

How does the three-head system work?

The Advantage® Pressure Bar Set includes three pressure head attachments of different sizes, stored on a portable storage card. Each head snaps onto the bar and directs compression downward over a different wound surface area. Smaller heads concentrate force for penetrating entrance wounds; larger heads provide broader surface coverage for open, high-volume wound sites and proximal hemorrhage management. The provider selects and attaches the appropriate head based on the wound characteristics encountered.

Can the Advantage Pressure Bar Set be attached to MOLLE?

Yes. The storage card in the Pressure Bar Set is designed for attachment to MOLLE webbing or carry in a standard pocket. This allows the Set to be mounted on plate carriers, tactical vests, or medical pouches as a pre-staged hemorrhage control accessory accessible without opening a full medical kit.

Is the Pressure Bar Set compatible with hemostatic wound packing?

Yes, and this is a primary intended use. After packing a wound with a hemostatic gauze (e.g., Combat Gauze, ChitoGauze XR, or WoundClot), apply the appropriately sized pressure head from the Set over the wound and secure it within a bandage or wrap. The Pressure Bar then maintains the required 3–5 minutes of sustained pressure for hemostatic clot formation, hands-free. This is particularly valuable during multi-casualty management when the provider cannot dedicate one hand to pressure holding.

What is the shelf life of the Advantage Pressure Bar Set?

The Advantage® Pressure Bar Set (TADV-01) has an 8-year shelf life from manufacture date. Its long shelf life makes it an excellent choice for vehicle emergency kits, law enforcement patrol bags, pre-positioned public access hemorrhage control stations, and any high-readiness application requiring reliable longevity without frequent restocking.
