Hyperthermia Control
Hyperthermia is elevated body temperature due to failed thermoregulation that occurs when a body produces or absorbs more heat than it dissipates. Extreme temperature elevation then becomes a medical emergency requiring immediate treatment to prevent disability or death.Â
It's critical to move a person with hyperthermia to a cooler place and seek emergency care because a temperature of 104 F (40 C) or higher is life-threatening. Confusion, nausea or vomiting, and rapid breathing are some symptoms.
