Chase Tactical Striker ACH Level IIIA Mid Cut Ballistic Helmet

A US-made, Berry-compliant mid-cut combat helmet in a Kevlar®/thermoset resin composite shell, with a D3O TRUST 7-point pad system and a four-point retention harness. Chase Tactical states it is tested to NIJ Standard 0106.01 for Level IIIA and MIL-STD 662F V50 tested for fragmentation. Four shell sizes, seven colorways, 5 lb, SKU CT-STRIKER-M.

NIJ 0106.01 Level IIIA — tested to, as statedMIL-STD 662F V50 frag testedD3O TRUST 7-point pad system4 sizes · 7 colors · Berry compliant

The mid cut is a coverage decision, not a protection level — it trades shell area above the ear for headset clearance. Decide it against how your people actually run comms, and against the hearing protection they already wear.

What's Included

One helmet per order, padded and harnessed, in the color and shell size you select. Color changes the finish only; the shell size changes the fit range, so the four sizes are shown separately. Colors offered: Black · Coyote Tan · OD Green · Desert Tan · Ranger Green. Tap the size you are buying.

▾Specifications

Chase Tactical Striker ACHMC — specifications as published

Specification	Detail
Manufacturer	Chase Tactical
Model	Striker ACHMC (Advanced Combat Helmet — Mid Cut)
Protection level, as stated	"Level IIIA — NIJ Standard 0106.01." Chase Tactical describes the helmet as tested to NIJ Standard 0106.01 at an accredited ballistic testing laboratory.
Test standard and edition	NIJ Standard 0106.01 — the NIJ standard for ballistic helmets. This is a separate document from NIJ 0101.06 and from the NIJ 0101.07 RF ratings; nothing here is converted between them.
Fragmentation	MIL-STD 662F V50 tested.
Threat, as published	The NIJ Standard 0106.01 requirement the shell is stated to meet — 9mm FMJ round nose, 124 gr at 1,400 ft/s ·.357 Magnum JSP, 158 gr at 1,395 ft/s ·.44 Magnum SJHP, 240 gr at 1,400 ft/s — defeated without complete penetration. Fragmentation is MIL-STD 662F V50 tested with a 17 gr FSP. Also named: .357 SIG, 125 gr FMJ at 1,470 ft/s and .40 S&W FMJ; both sit outside the NIJ 0106.01 test series and are attributed to the manufacturer's own commissioned laboratory testing.
Rifle protection	None. This is a handgun- and fragmentation-rated system and is not rifle rated.
Shell material	Kevlar® fibers in a thermoset resin composite
Cut	Mid cut — more lateral coverage than a high cut, clears most over-the-ear headset systems
Pad system	D3O TRUST 7-point ACH pad system
Retention	Four-point harness, nape pad, leather-lined chin strap
Sizes	Small 21.1–21.9 in. · Medium 21.9–22.7 in. · Large 22.7–24 in. · Extra Large 24–26 in.
Accessory compatibility	ARC rails, NVG shrouds, comms headsets and counterweight systems
Colors	Black · Coyote Tan · OD Green · Desert Tan · Ranger Green
Warranty	5 years on ballistic material · 1 year on exterior and workmanship (Chase Tactical)
Compliance / origin	Berry Compliant — Made in USA
Weight	5 lb — one figure for the model; not broken out by shell size
SKU / part number	CT-STRIKER-M — Chase Tactical's model code; not broken out by color or size. MED-TAC variant SKUs (e.g. CT-STRIKER-013, CT-ACHMC-RG-SM) are MED-TAC part numbers, not Chase's.
Shipping restriction	MED-TAC does not ship body armor to Connecticut or New York, and that covers this helmet.

Protection wording is Chase Tactical's: Tested to NIJ Standard 0106.01 at an accredited ballistic testing laboratory. NIJ's compliance program covers body armor, so no ballistic helmet from any manufacturer carries NIJ certification. A 5-year material warranty does not establish how long the helmet may stay in service.

▾Who Carries It

Tactical teams running comms on callout who need headset clearance without dropping to a high cut · Patrol rifle officers and school resource officers issued a single helmet across mixed assignments · Corrections emergency response teams · Agencies standardizing one helmet family rather than buying separate standard-cut and high-cut inventories.

Match the cut to the job before the level enters the conversation: Standard cut gives the largest protective area and crowds over-the-ear hearing protection, mid cut balances the two, high cut maximizes clearance for breaching and CQB. Then handle the rating on its own terms — this shell is stated as tested to NIJ Standard 0106.01 for Level IIIA, which is a handgun and fragmentation class. Personnel facing a rifle threat need rated hard armor plates in a carrier; a helmet in this class does not substitute for that.
