The Desmodus Anthony Rescue Litter was developed around a simple operational problem: getting an injured patient out of places where a conventional rigid stretcher is too bulky, too slow, or simply cannot maneuver. Its low-profile flexible design is suited to law-enforcement operations, prehospital response, disaster rescue, remote environments and confined-access extractions. Eight padded lateral handles plus carry points at both ends give rescuers multiple positions for lifting and movement, while the central quick-release retention strap helps keep the patient secured during transport. A Cordura® Ripstop reinforced underside adds durability in the area most likely to contact the ground during low carries and drags.
What makes the Anthony especially useful as an issued field litter is how little space it consumes when it is not being used. The litter folds into its included Cordura transport pouch, creating a package approximately 9.4 × 9.1 × 1.4 inches and weighing about 1.66 lb complete. The pouch is MOLLE-compatible, allowing the litter to ride directly on a tactical vest, medical bag or modular pack instead of remaining back at the vehicle when it is suddenly needed.
