The PAD-PAK combines battery and electrodes in one cartridge, so there is a single expiration date to track rather than two.

An AED is designed to be used by a bystander and will not deliver a shock to a rhythm that does not need one — but a defibrillator program is more than a device. Check your state's requirements for AED registration, medical direction and reporting, keep the PAD-PAK inside its expiration date, and make sure the people who might carry this bag have had CPR and AED training. Fire extinguisher use has its own limits: attack only a small, contained fire with an exit behind you.

▾Colors & Sizes

One bag size, two colorways: Red (EMC-OTG-1) and Blue (EMC-OTG-2). Both carry the identical AED, first-aid kit, extinguisher, flashlight and training video — the color is a wayfinding choice, useful when an organization codes red for medical and blue for general safety, or simply wants the bag identifiable across a field.

A black backpack appears in some older product images. That colorway has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is not orderable; Red and Blue are the current options.

Is the HeartSine 350P in this kit compatible with pediatric patients?

The 350P included with this kit comes equipped with the adult PAD-PAK (battery + electrode pads). Pediatric capability is available via the separate pediatric PAD-PAK accessory, which can be purchased and stored in the backpack alongside the adult PAD-PAK. For facilities or events where children are regularly present, having a pediatric PAD-PAK on hand is strongly recommended. When the pediatric PAD-PAK is installed, the 350P automatically delivers age-appropriate reduced energy levels.

What type of fire extinguisher is included and what fires can it handle?

The kit includes a class ABC fire extinguisher at 2.5 lb. Class A covers ordinary combustibles (wood, paper, fabric, plastics); Class B covers flammable liquids (gasoline, oil, grease); Class C covers energized electrical equipment fires. This tri-class rating makes it appropriate for the vast majority of fires encountered in public buildings, offices, sports venues, and outdoor events — the same types of environments where the AED and first aid kit are most likely to be needed.
