This is a task trainer, not a medical device, and nothing in it is evidence-based standard — the trainer is inert, and the status of whichever real tourniquet a student practices with does not transfer to it. The teaching value is the failure it exposes. Students routinely stop winding at the point where the strap feels snug, which is well short of arterial occlusion, and a static limb lets that pass unnoticed. Here the wound keeps flowing until placement and force are both right, so the standard enforces itself and the instructor spends the repetition coaching instead of adjudicating.

Practical setup notes: Fill the bag, connect the tubing and clamp, hang the bag above the arm so gravity does the work, open the clamp to start the bleed, then close the clamp, re-orient the arm and top up fluid between students. Budget simulated blood as a recurring consumable and plan somewhere the floor can get wet — the arm cleans up, the room does not.
