TRAMEDIC Bleeding Control Kit for Schools
A ten-item classroom kit built around one design decision: the instruction sheet sorts the injury before it asks for a skill. Spurting blood goes to the tourniquet — a CoTCCC-recommended SOF® Tactical Tourniquet Wide in rescue orange — and steady dark bleeding goes to the bandage and gauze. Everything sits in a red pouch small enough for a desk drawer. SKU SCINDBCK.

A teacher does not need to know the anatomy. The instruction sheet asks one question — is it spurting or is it steady — and each answer points at a different item in the pouch.

Kit Contents

One configuration, ten line items. One of them carries CoTCCC recommendation; the specification note says which and what the hemostatic is. Tap the section.

MARCH phases M — Massive Hemorrhage · H — Hypothermia

CoTCCC recommendation applies to one item: the SOF® Tactical Tourniquet Wide. It does not extend to the trauma bandage, the blanket, the shears or the pouch. The hemostatic in this kit is ChitoGauze XR Pro, an extended-release chitosan formulation that is a different product from ChitoGauze PRO; because the two are distinct SKUs, no recommendation annotation is applied to it here, and a programme with a device list to satisfy should confirm which formulation its policy names. Three practical notes for a school. The gloves are one pair in size XL only — workable for most adults, tight for nobody and loose for many, and a building deploying at scale may want a second glove size added. The kit covers M and H of MARCH — bleeding and warmth — and nothing else; there is no chest seal and no airway adjunct. And the patch matters more than it looks: a kit that has been opened and put back is a kit that will fail the next time, so the resupply flag is part of the design, not a sticker. Nothing on this page is training; a bleeding-control course remains the thing that makes the kit work.

Who Carries It

K-12 classrooms and school offices, at the scale where a kit has to be in the room rather than down the corridor · School districts standardising a programme across many buildings on one manifest · Public venues and workplaces wanting a pouch that a bystander can open and follow · Anyone stocking a desk drawer or a go-bag where size decides whether it is present at all.

Why the orange tourniquet is not cosmetic: at handover, an applied tourniquet under a sleeve or a blanket is easy to miss, and a missed tourniquet is a serious problem. Rescue orange is there to be seen by the crew that arrives next. The same logic runs through the kit — a red pouch that is found fast, a marker so the application time travels with the casualty, and a patch so an opened kit is restocked. These notes are general reference only and are not a substitute for accredited bleeding-control training.
