The LXPCS-BK also provides both a traditional bell (for low-frequency heart sounds) and a diaphragm (for breath, bowel, and standard heart sounds) on each side.

What does the snap-on ring on the chest piece do?

The snap-on ring serves two functions: it acts as a diaphragm retaining ring that locks the acoustic membrane securely in place (preventing diagnostic error from a loose diaphragm), and it functions as a cold-protection cover that warms the cold metal chest piece surface before it contacts the patient's skin — a patient comfort feature valued in prehospital and bedside care.

What is dual-lumen stethoscope tubing?

Dual-lumen tubing routes both acoustic channels (from each earpiece) inside a single external tube instead of running two separate tubes side by side. This produces a cleaner profile, reduces tangling, and eliminates the acoustic interference that can occur when two separate tubes rub against each other during auscultation.
