Chase Tactical Joey Utility Pouch

A two-pocket utility pouch that hangs under the front flap of most plate carriers on hook-and-loop, in the kangaroo position beneath the front panel. A large zippered compartment takes a compact radio, phone or folded dressing; a smaller one takes batteries, a light or small tools. MOLLE webbing on the outer face lets you build forward without spending vest real estate.

The space under the front flap is dead real estate on most carriers. Filling it costs nothing on the outside of the vest — which is exactly where a medical pouch has to compete.

How does the Chase Tactical JOEY Utility Pouch attach to a plate carrier?

The JOEY attaches via Velcro — the back face of the pouch has a hook surface that connects to the loop Velcro field on the interior front flap of most plate carriers. This mounts the pouch in the 'kangaroo' position hanging beneath the front panel of the carrier, keeping it accessible from the front while completely hidden when viewed externally. It requires a plate carrier with a Velcro loop field on the interior of its front flap or cummerbund area. The JOEY also has exterior MOLLE webbing for additional forward-facing pouch attachment.

What can fit in the large zippered compartment of the JOEY Pouch?

The large compartment is designed for larger accessories and medical items — a compact radio (Motorola CLP/DTR or similar), a folded Israeli bandage or combat gauze roll, a smartphone, a compact notebook, a glove pack, or similar items. The exact dimensions accommodate items up to approximately the size of a full-size smartphone. For specific dimension confirmation before loading larger items, contact MED-TAC International.

Does the JOEY Pouch work with the Chase Tactical LVPC-Elite Active Shooter Kit?

Yes — the Chase Tactical LVPC-Elite plate carrier has a front flap with a Velcro loop field that is compatible with the JOEY's hook-back attachment. The JOEY mounts beneath the LVPC-Elite's front flap in the kangaroo position, adding organized utility storage without consuming any of the carrier's exterior MOLLE real estate. This is a particularly effective configuration for operators who need the LVPC-Elite's low-profile concealability while still carrying organized utility gear.

Can the JOEY Utility Pouch be mounted on a battle belt instead of a plate carrier?

The JOEY is primarily designed for the Velcro-based under-flap mounting unique to plate carriers. Battle belts typically do not have large Velcro loop fields in the same configuration. However, the JOEY's exterior MOLLE webbing means it can be attached to another MOLLE pouch or carrier via MOLLE if a compatible MOLLE-to-Velcro interface is used. For direct battle belt mounting, a MOLLE-attached utility pouch would be more appropriate.

What is the advantage of the JOEY Pouch over mounting a standard MOLLE utility pouch externally?

The primary advantage is profile management and MOLLE conservation. Mounting the JOEY under the front flap adds zero external MOLLE footprint to your carrier, preserving all external MOLLE real estate for magazine pouches, IFAK, and other critical external pouches. The under-flap position also provides an additional layer of concealment — the utility items are not visible to observers from the front — which is operationally relevant for plainclothes or low-visibility applications. The concealed position also reduces snag risk during vehicle entry/exit.
