Chase Tactical additionally states the panels meet or exceed DEA and FBI ballistic requirements. Those are agency procurement protocols layered on top of NIJ — the DEA protocol adds fragmentation testing, the FBI protocol adds environmental conditioning — and they are manufacturer statements distinct from the NIJ 0101.06 certification above.

Level IIIA is a handgun protection class — it is the base layer, and rifle coverage comes from hard plates rated for that threat. Soft armor panels are directional: read the label on the panel and orient it as the manufacturer marks it before wear. Soft armor is a dated item. Record the manufacture date on receipt, keep the panels out of prolonged heat and direct sunlight, store them flat rather than folded or compressed, and inspect the cover and stitching on a schedule.

What does the Dyneema/aramid hybrid construction mean for protection?

The hybrid matrix in Chase Tactical's Level IIIA panels combines PEUD Dyneema (an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene fiber) with a patented woven aramid layer. Dyneema contributes excellent weight efficiency and moisture resistance; aramid contributes additional multi-hit structural integrity and energy absorption. The combination achieves certified Level IIIA protection at a thinner, lighter profile than single-material approaches — approximately 0.1595" thick.

How many panels are included in the CT-3A300-LVPC-PB set?

The CT-3A300-LVPC-PB package includes two (2) soft armor panels — one for the front plate pocket and one for the rear plate pocket of the Chase Tactical LVPC carrier. Chase Tactical provides a 5-year warranty on the ballistic material (the fiber layers that provide protection) and a 1-year warranty on the exterior cover material and workmanship. The 5-year ballistic warranty aligns with the NIJ-recognized service life for soft armor panels. Panels that have been struck by a projectile, submerged, or improperly stored should be inspected before further service use.
