Each filter is single-patient use. Ten filters means ten patients, not ten uses on one.
No ventilator, no circuit, no mask and no oxygen tubing is included. This is a consumable accessory for a ventilator you already own.
The O₂ reservoir (F20072-10) and the noise attenuator (M41112-5) are separate products. All three connect to the SAME air intake port and are mutually exclusive — only one can be fitted at a time.
The HME filter is fitted only when the O₂ reservoir is NOT connected. If the patient needs supplemental oxygen, the reservoir takes the port and the filter comes off.

Are HME filters single-use or reusable?

Can the HME filter be used when supplemental oxygen is being delivered?

No. The HME filter (E32113-10) and the Oxygen Reservoir (F20072-10) both connect to the air intake port of the SAVe II/II+ and are mutually exclusive. When supplemental oxygen is being delivered via the reservoir, the HME filter must be removed. When room-air ventilation is in use and supplemental O2 is not required, the HME filter can be installed on the intake port.

Why is airway humidification important during mechanical ventilation?

Mechanical ventilation bypasses the upper airway — the nose and oropharynx — which normally warm, humidify, and filter inspired air. Without this conditioning, the lower airway receives cool, dry, unfiltered gas with every breath, leading to mucosal drying, impaired mucociliary clearance, secretion retention, atelectasis, and increased risk of ventilator-associated complications.
