What is the Quick Access IFAK? A fully stocked tactical trauma kit (LXPB25-SKX) from MED-TAC International, built around the Lightning X LXPB25 pouch with a dual-zipper quick-drop front panel for instant access. It includes a NAR C-A-T® tourniquet, QuikClot® clotting gauze, NAR HyFin® Vent Chest Seal Twin Pack, ARS chest decompression needle, NPA airway, Israeli pressure bandage, suture set, and Kelly hemostats — in Black and Coyote Tan with MOLLE attachment on all four sides.

This kit contains three items that are outside the scope of civilian first aid: a 14-gauge ARS needle decompression device, a suture set, and Kelly hemostats. Needle decompression is an invasive procedure that can cause serious injury or death when performed on the wrong patient or at the wrong site, and field suturing of traumatic wounds is rarely appropriate. These items belong to paramedics, physicians, PAs, nurse practitioners, military medics, and other providers credentialed to use them under their own medical direction.
If you are a prepared civilian, range officer, or security professional without that credentialing, buy the MED-TAC Custom Trauma Kit instead — it carries stronger bleeding-control components (true QuikClot® Combat Gauze) with nothing above your scope.

Full-Spectrum Trauma in One Motion
The Quick Access IFAK is MED-TAC's provider-level kit, spanning the full arc of penetrating-wound care: hemorrhage control, chest seal, decompression, airway, and wound closure. The Lightning X LXPB25 pouch was chosen for its dual-zipper quick-drop front panel — pulled open, the front face lays completely flat, exposing all 10 elastic loops and four interior pockets at once. No single pull-tab to fumble; the entire kit is accessible in one motion.
Hemorrhage control runs through the C-A-T® tourniquet, QuikClot® clotting gauze, and the Israeli pressure bandage. Chest trauma is covered by the HyFin® Vent twin pack for entry and exit wounds, with the ARS 14-gauge needle available for decompression of a tension pneumothorax. The suture set and Kelly hemostats extend the kit into prolonged field care, where evacuation is delayed and definitive treatment falls to the provider on scene.
One deliberate trade-off: this kit carries QuikClot® 3″ × 24″ clotting gauze rather than the longer 3″ × 4 yd Combat Gauze. It is a shorter dressing with less packing capacity. If your priority is deep-cavity wound packing rather than decompression and closure, the MED-TAC Custom Trauma Kit carries genuine Combat Gauze instead.
