Does the TacMed AMED Stocked Kit contain CoTCCC-recommended items?

Yes. The AMED Stocked Kit contains multiple CoTCCC-recommended items, including the SOF® Tactical Tourniquet Wide for extremity hemorrhage control, QuikClot Combat Gauze LE as a hemostatic wound-packing agent, 28FR nasopharyngeal airways, and HALO Chest Seals for penetrating thoracic wounds. These items align with CoTCCC guidelines for Tactical Field Care and Tactical Evacuation Care.

Does the AMED Stocked Kit include needle decompression devices?

No. The current Tactical Medical Solutions bill of materials for the AMED Stocked Kit does not include 14GA decompression needles. Earlier production runs included 8x TPAK 14GA x 3.25 inch needles; that component has since been removed by the manufacturer. Add decompression needles separately if your protocol requires tension-pneumothorax capability.

How can the TacMed AMED bag be worn or carried?

The AMED is designed with three distinct carry configurations: as a backpack with shoulder straps for dismounted operations, as an over-the-shoulder messenger bag for rapid side access, or hung as a panel in vehicle cab or wall-mounted systems. This versatility allows the bag to transition from vehicle-mounted to body-worn as the mission demands without repacking.

What colors does the TacMed AMED Stocked Kit come in?

The TacMed AMED Stocked Kit is available in three colors: Black (SKU MEDTAC0738), Coyote Tan (SKU MEDTAC0739), and Olive Drab (SKU MEDTAC0740). All color variants contain the same verified kit contents.

How is the interior of the AMED bag organized?

The AMED's interior is fully coated with loop-tape, allowing any hook-backed pouches or accessories to be repositioned to the user's preference. The kit ships with three zippered PVC window pouches and three zippered mesh pouches for initial organization. Critical intervention items are intended for the top flap compartment for immediate access; the main compartment holds additional treatment supplies and casualty packaging; the rear sleeve holds triage and casualty marking materials.

Is the TacMed AMED suitable as a vehicle bag as well as a field kit?

Yes. The AMED was designed to serve dual roles as both an assault aid bag for dismounted operators and a vehicle bag for crew-served platforms. Its panel-hang configuration and scalable size allow it to integrate into vehicle cab mounting systems or stow efficiently in vehicle crew compartments, making it a standard choice for ground vehicle medical sets requiring immediate-access trauma capability.

Does the AMED Stocked Kit include a surgical airway kit?

No. The AMED Stocked Kit includes a 28FR Nasopharyngeal Airway (x2) with lubricant for airway management, but does not include a surgical airway (cric) kit. For surgical airway capability, the TacMed Surgical Airway Kit or TacMed Basic Airway Kit can be added to the bag.

How many patients can the AMED Stocked Kit treat?

The AMED carries 4x SOF® TT-Wide tourniquets and 2x QuikClot Combat Gauze LE packs, providing primary hemorrhage control for up to four limb-bleeding casualties and two additional wound-packing interventions. Supporting items (chest seals, airways, splints, dressings) extend capability across multiple patients.

Does the AMED Stocked Kit include hypothermia prevention?

Yes. One TacMed Emergency Bivvy is included in the stocked contents, addressing hypothermia — one of the three main causes of preventable death in trauma (alongside hemorrhage and airway compromise) — a component frequently omitted from budget-built kits.
