The Advantage® Pressure Bar

A three-ounce directed-pressure bar that threads through or sits inside any wrap, bandage or tourniquet to hold point pressure over a wound after the provider's hands come off. This is the large-head version, part number TADV-02, which 6:8 Medical Solutions positions for proximal sites and larger wound cavities. FDA-listed, CE-marked, Class I non-sterile, latex-free, eight-year shelf life.

What does the Advantage Pressure Bar do?

The Advantage® Pressure Bar (TADV-02) is a hands-free hemorrhage control device that uses patented P3D technology to lock in targeted downward pressure over a wound site when threaded through or secured within a wrap, bandage, or tourniquet. It eliminates the need to manually hold pressure over hemostatic agents for 3–5 minutes, freeing the provider to manage other care priorities or multiple casualties.

Is the Advantage Pressure Bar CoTCCC compatible?

The Advantage® Pressure Bar is fully compatible with all CoTCCC-recommended tourniquets, wraps, and non-pressure bandages. While the Pressure Bar itself is an FDA-listed Class I device and not specifically listed by name in CoTCCC guidelines, its use is consistent with CoTCCC's hemorrhage control objectives and it integrates directly with CoTCCC-recommended equipment.

What is the difference between the Advantage Pressure Bar (TADV-02) and the Advantage Pressure Bar Set (TADV-01)?

The Advantage® Pressure Bar (TADV-02) is the standalone large-pressure-head bar, optimized for proximal hemorrhage management. The Advantage® Pressure Bar Set (TADV-01) includes the pressure bar plus three differently sized pressure heads on a storage card — providing greater versatility across wound sizes and anatomical locations. The Set is the recommended option when a range of wound sizes must be anticipated.

Can the Advantage Pressure Bar be used in combination with hemostatic gauze?

Yes, and this is one of its primary use cases. After packing a wound with hemostatic gauze (such as Combat Gauze, ChitoGauze, or similar), the provider typically needs to apply 3–5 minutes of sustained manual pressure for effective hemostasis. The Advantage® Pressure Bar can be positioned over the packed wound and secured within a wrap to maintain this pressure hands-free, allowing the provider to simultaneously address other injuries or casualty management tasks.

How long is the shelf life of the Advantage Pressure Bar?

The Advantage® Pressure Bar has an 8-year shelf life from manufacture date. This extended shelf life makes it appropriate for vehicle medical kits, pre-positioned emergency stations, and long-term deployment medical loadouts where frequent item rotation is logistically challenging.
