FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the Dyna-Stopper Dressing used for?
The Dynarex Dyna-Stopper is an all-in-one pressure dressing designed to control moderate bleeding wounds. It combines an absorbent sterile pad with an elastic wrap and integrated pressure bar, allowing a single responder to cover and maintain pressure on lacerations, punctures, and moderate hemorrhage wounds without needing separate gauze, tape, and bandage components.
How does the Dyna-Stopper compare to the Israeli Emergency Bandage?
The Dyna-Stopper is marketed as a lower-cost alternative to the Israeli Emergency Bandage (pressure bandage) for moderate bleeding situations. The Israeli bandage offers a more robust pressure applicator bar and is the preferred option for severe or arterial bleeds. The Dyna-Stopper is better suited for secondary wound management, bulk-stocking kits, and situations where the wound severity does not require a premium hemorrhage control dressing.
Is the Dyna-Stopper CoTCCC-recommended?
The Dyna-Stopper is not on the CoTCCC recommended list for tactical combat casualty care. For life-threatening extremity hemorrhage, CoTCCC-recommended tools include tourniquets and hemostatic dressings. The Dyna-Stopper is appropriate for moderate wound management, training kits, public-access bleeding control stations, and supplemental dressing roles where premium CoTCCC-tier products are not required.
Is the Dyna-Stopper sold sterile?
Yes. The Dyna-Stopper Dressing is individually packaged in a sterile wrapper suitable for direct wound application. As with all sterile medical supplies, the package should be inspected before use and the dressing should be discarded if packaging is damaged or the expiration date has passed.
Can the Dyna-Stopper be used in a civilian first aid or Stop the Bleed kit?
Yes. The Dyna-Stopper is a practical, budget-friendly option for civilian preparedness kits, public-access bleeding control stations, vehicle first aid supplies, and community emergency response kits. For catastrophic hemorrhage scenarios, MED-TAC recommends pairing a Dyna-Stopper with a CoTCCC-recommended tourniquet from our hemorrhage control collection.
