The legacy listing carried a claim that has been removed: It described this product as 'the CoTCCC-recommended 28 Fr NPA' and published a spec row reading 'CoTCCC Status | 28 Fr NPA is CoTCCC-recommended for adult trauma casualties'. CoTCCC recommendation is a status held by specific named products that have been through that review — tourniquets, hemostatics, chest seals, the ARS needle — not by a catheter size, and a size cannot confer the status on any manufacturer's tube that happens to be cut to it. Lightning X is not a CoTCCC-recommended product line. What TCCC curricula do teach about nasopharyngeal airway sizing belongs in your training, not on a product listing, and this page states no sizing rule, no indication, no contraindication and no patient range. It also does not carry the legacy page's claim about which patients an NPA can be used on relative to an oropharyngeal airway — that is clinical teaching, and it belongs in a course. Four attributes a buyer would want are simply absent from the manufacturer data: sterility, tube material, tube length and shelf life, plus the type and sterility of the supplied lubricant. They are marked absent rather than guessed. The one weight figure published, approximately 6 oz, is notably heavy for a single NPA and lubricant and is more likely a shipping or case weight; treat it with caution.

This is a budget-tier component, and that is a legitimate choice for kits that get built by the dozen — but choose it knowingly. It is a single size, from a value brand, with several manufacturer specifications unpublished, and it does not carry CoTCCC recognition regardless of what the size is. If your protocol names a specific NPA or a specific manufacturer, buy that one. NPA sizing, contraindication screening, insertion and confirmation are trained clinical skills performed under your scope of practice and your medical direction.
