A 40-liter emergency backpack built to be worn with a ballistic vest. MOLLE runs across the front, sides and interior, the underside is Hypalon-reinforced, and an integrated winch and helicopter rescue ring is built in. Four lashing rings secure it in a vehicle or aircraft. Red for immediate identification of rescue personnel, or Multicam in 450D ripstop. Sold empty.

What is the difference between the Red and Multicam versions?

Fabric and color. The Red (SEC1098) uses coated 1680D polyamide and is intended for immediate identification of rescue personnel. The Multicam (MIL2218) uses coated 450D ripstop. Both share the 40 L layout, MOLLE front, sides and interior, the winch and helicopter rescue ring and the 5.7 lb (2.6 kg) weight.

Can the TALWEG be worn with a ballistic vest?

Yes. The backpack harness is designed to be compatible with a ballistic vest, and an adjustable waist belt helps carry the load. Fit varies with vest cut and setup, so check it with your own kit before deployment.

How is the bag secured in a vehicle or aircraft?

Four lashing rings let you tie the bag down in a vehicle, aircraft or similar. They are hardware on a bag, not rated cargo-restraint equipment, so use them within your agency's vehicle and aircraft securing procedures.

Can the zippers be secured?

Yes. The double YKK size 12 zipper has pull tabs that can be sealed or padlocked. The bag also carries an external label holder for identification and a bottom access pocket, with Hypalon reinforcement on the underside.

Will it take a hydration bladder?

The TALWEG has a water bladder outlet for routing a drinking tube out of the pack. No dedicated reservoir compartment or maximum bladder size is specified, so check fit against your own reservoir before deploying.
