Nothing here is a medical device and no item carries evidence-based evaluation status — the trainers are simulation aids, the gauze is plain training gauze with no hemostatic agent, and the simulant is not blood or a blood product. Three things to plan around. This kit is sold as adding tourniquet skills, and it supplies the limb to apply them to, but no tourniquet appears in the manifest — a program running a tourniquet station needs to bring its own training tourniquets, ideally the same model the students will carry, and should budget for one per pair rather than one per class. There is one tray for four trainers, so wet stations will need additional trays or a table plan that keeps simulant contained. And exam gloves are not in this kit although they are in the standard 10–20 kit, so add them. On the positive side the skin tones are mixed — two light trainers and two dark — which is a better spread than most classroom sets. This kit supports instruction and is not a substitute for an accredited bleeding-control course.

Why the leg matters: on a packing trainer a student learns to pack. On a limb they learn where a tourniquet actually goes, how much force real occlusion takes, and how quickly a windlass gets away from them. Teaching both in one session is what makes the triage question — reachable or not reachable — a decision the student has actually rehearsed rather than a definition they have heard.
