Solution-dyed Cordura® is colored during fiber extrusion rather than dyed after weaving, so the color runs through the fiber and resists fading. Hypalon is a rubber-reinforced synthetic that keeps its grip wet or gloved and does not stiffen in cold the way polyester webbing does.

Hypalon (chlorosulfonated polyethylene) is a synthetic rubber-based fabric known for exceptional grip, chemical resistance, and performance across wide temperature ranges. As a pull tab material, Hypalon provides reliable grip even when wet, muddy, or when wearing gloves — conditions where standard polyester tabs become slick. It does not stiffen or crack in cold environments the way some plastics do. Chase Tactical integrates Hypalon pull tabs specifically to ensure the bungee retention system can be rapidly defeated under adverse field conditions.

Is the bungee retention system reliable enough to prevent magazines from falling out during active movement?

Yes — Chase Tactical's bungee retention system is specifically designed to hold magazines securely through running, low-crawling, jumping, and inversion while allowing deliberate one-handed extraction with firm grip. The bungee tension is calibrated to resist vibration and incidental contact while yielding to intentional upward pull. If you find the retention too loose or tight for a specific magazine body weight, some adjustment is possible by repositioning how the bungee loops around the magazine.

What does '500 weight solution-dyed Cordura' mean and why is it better?

500D (500 denier) refers to the thread weight of the Cordura nylon weave — heavier than 500D provides more abrasion resistance; lighter is more flexible. 500D is the standard for tactical pouches balancing durability with manageable weight. 'Solution-dyed' means the color was added to the fiber during its creation (in solution) rather than after weaving. Solution-dyed fibers retain color significantly longer under UV exposure and washing, and the coloring penetrates the full fiber cross-section rather than just the surface — resulting in a fabric that doesn't fade noticeably over its service life.
