A complete hard-armor response package: the Chase Tactical LOPC Lightweight Operational Plate Carrier bundled with two AR1000 steel 10"×12" shooter-cut plates, sold as one purchase so a response program does not have to source carrier and armor separately. What rounds does the Level III+ AR1000 hard armor protect against?

The Chase Tactical AR1000 Level III+ hard armor plates are rated for multi-hit protection against standard rifle and handgun threats including M193 (5.56×45mm at 3,000 ft/s), M80 (7.62×51mm NATO ball), M855 (5.56×45mm green tip penetrator), and common handgun calibers including 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP. Level III+ exceeds the NIJ Level III standard by specifically including protection against M855 / SS109 penetrators, which are not covered under the base Level III certification.

What is a Shooter Cut plate and why does it matter?

Shooter Cut plates have the upper corner of the standard rectangular plate beveled at an angle — typically removing 1–2 inches from the upper outer corner. This bevel reduces the contact between the plate edge and the shoulder area when the shooter mounts a rifle to their cheek weld. Without Shooter Cut, a standard square-cornered plate digs into the shoulder during firing, reducing comfort and accuracy under sustained fire. Shooter Cut is the standard choice for law enforcement and military operators who will be firing under stress while wearing the carrier.

What does the vertical clip placard system on the LOPC allow?

The LOPC front panel uses two vertical clips to hold the included MOLLE clip placard — and accepts any aftermarket placard system using the same vertical clip interface. This allows the wearer to rapidly swap entire front panel configurations: replacing a magazine-loaded placard with a medical-loaded placard, adding a radio placard, or removing the placard entirely for a minimal-profile configuration. The change takes seconds without tools and without removing the carrier.

Is the Chase Tactical LOPC carrier compatible with soft armor backer panels?

Yes. The LOPC is designed to work with any set of hard armor plates and soft armor backers. The carrier's front and rear plate bags accept standard 10×12 hard armor plates and can accommodate soft armor backer panels behind the hard plates — a common configuration for law enforcement officers who want the additional blunt trauma reduction and Level IIIA soft armor coverage that backers provide. Soft armor backers are not included and must be purchased separately.

How quickly can someone don the LOPC Active Shooter Kit in an emergency?

The LOPC is designed for rapid donning: step into the cummerbund, pull the carrier over the head, and adjust shoulder straps. With the carrier pre-sized for the individual wearer and straps pre-set, total donning time of 10–20 seconds is achievable with practice. Organizations deploying this kit as a staged response resource should conduct regular fit exercises to ensure every potential wearer can don and secure the carrier quickly under stress — ideally with all personnel pre-measured and individual straps pre-adjusted.
