Chase Tactical Striker ACH Level IIIA High Cut Ballistic Helmet

A high-cut advanced combat helmet in Kevlar® fiber and thermoset resin composite, stated by Chase Tactical as Level IIIA tested to NIJ Standard 0106.01 and MIL-STD 662F for fragmentation, SKU CT-STRIKER-H, 5 lb. It ships with ARC rails, an NVG shroud, a bungee retention strap and a Velcro strip, on a D3O TRUST seven-pad system and a four-point harness. Four sizes, seven colorways.

Level IIIA — NIJ 0106.01 as statedMIL-STD 662F frag testedARC rails + NVG shroud includedD3O TRUST 7-pad system

A helmet is fitted, not bought. Head circumference decides the shell size; the pad stack and the four-point harness decide whether it is still on your head after the first transition to the deck.

What's Included

Every helmet ships the same accessory set — size and color change the shell, not the package. Sizes: Small · Medium · Large · Extra Large. Tap a section for what ships, how it is sized, and the ballistic test data exactly as the manufacturer states it.

NIJ 0106.01 is the ballistic-helmet standard; it is a different test regime from the body-armor standards 0101.06 and 0101.07, and levels do not convert between them. NIJ's compliance program covers body armor, so no ballistic helmet from any manufacturer carries NIJ certification; testing to NIJ Standard 0106.01 at an accredited ballistic testing laboratory, as published by Chase Tactical, is the standard of evidence in this category.

▾Who Carries It

Law enforcement tactical teams — SWAT, SRT and warrant service, where the high cut clears over-the-ear hearing protection and comms · Military and SOF users running NVGs off the shroud and rail-mounted lights or counterweights · Corrections emergency response and court security teams issued helmets for planned operations.

Head protection is issued equipment, not a personal purchase decision, in most agencies: fit, sizing and replacement cycle are set by policy. Buy the size from a measured head circumference, not from a hat size, and have the harness fitted by someone who has done it before.

▾Ballistic Test Data as Published

These are the rounds and velocities the manufacturer states the shell was tested against — not a general guarantee of performance against any round in the field.

9mm Parabellum — 124 gr FMJ RN at 1,400 ft/s
.357 Magnum — 158 gr JSP at 1,395 ft/s
.44 Magnum — 240 gr SJHP at 1,400 ft/s
Fragmentation (V50) — 17 gr FSP, MIL-STD 662F tested

These were stated as stopped without complete penetration, tested to NIJ Standard 0106.01 at an accredited ballistic testing laboratory, as published by Chase Tactical. No rifle-threat claim is made: a Level IIIA helmet is a handgun and fragmentation protective device.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What NIJ standard does the Chase Tactical Striker ACH High Cut helmet meet?

The Chase Tactical Striker ACHHC is tested and verified to meet or exceed NIJ Standard 0106.01 — the specific NIJ standard governing ballistic helmets — by an NVLAP-accredited laboratory. This standard tests against 9mm FMJ, .357 Magnum JSP, and .44 Magnum SJHP threats. The helmet additionally meets MIL-STD 662F fragmentation resistance requirements.

Why choose a high-cut helmet over a standard ACH cut?

The high-cut profile removes shell material behind and above the ears, enabling unobstructed use of over-the-ear hearing protection, active comms headsets (such as Peltor COMTAC or Ops-Core AMP), and night-vision system mounts. This is the preferred configuration for SWAT, CQB operators, and tactical law enforcement who rely on communication and auditory situational awareness during operations.

Does the Striker ACHHC come with NVG mounting capability?

Yes. The helmet ships with an NVG shroud that accommodates standard dovetail night-vision device mounts, including the AN/PVS-14 monocular and similar devices. It also includes ARC rails on both sides for accessory attachment, a bungee retention strap, and a Velcro identification strip.

What padding system is used in the Chase Tactical Striker High Cut helmet?

The Striker ACHHC uses the D3O TRUST 7-point ACH pad system. D3O is a rate-sensitive impact-absorbing material that remains flexible under normal conditions but stiffens on ballistic or blunt-force impact to dissipate energy and reduce traumatic brain injury risk. The 7-pad configuration provides full crown coverage and complies with U.S. military ACH interior configuration standards.

What is the warranty on the Chase Tactical Striker ACH High Cut helmet?

Chase Tactical provides a 5-year warranty on all ballistic materials and a 1-year warranty on exterior cover materials and workmanship. Due to the ballistic nature of this product, all sales are final per Chase Tactical's manufacturer policy. The helmet is BERRY Compliant and manufactured in the USA.
