PRODUCT INFORMATION
North American Rescue · Litter Transport
Wheeled Litter Carrier
A wheeled cart that carries a loaded rigid litter, turning a multi-person carry into a one-person push. North American Rescue publishes 42 lb for the cart and a 550 lb payload, with an adjustable locking clamp that fits the Talon, Raven, MedEvac and T3 litters and a wheel lock that converts the cart into a field litter stand. Litters are sold separately.

Personnel are the scarcest thing on a casualty scene. Anything that returns three sets of hands to the work is worth its stowage space.

What's Included

One carrier. No litter, no case, no patient restraint system — those are separate products. Tap to open the list.

Shipping Freight, on a pallet

This is a load-rated patient-transport device for trained users: do not exceed the 550 lb published payload, and inspect the frame, clamps and wheel lock before and after each use. Plan on relatively flat, improved surfaces — the carrier is not designed for rough or unimproved terrain.

▾Who Carries It

Military MEDEVAC and combat support hospitals moving litter patients between treatment areas without burning a four-person carry team · Fire, EMS and search and rescue on long carries over improved ground · Mass-casualty and aid-station operations, where the same unit is a cart during movement and an elevated litter stand during treatment · Fixed-site and expeditionary medical facilities where patient movement quietly consumes the staffing budget.

The dual function is the part worth planning around. A cart that locks into a stand means the litter does not have to come off the wheels to become a treatment surface, which saves both a transfer and a piece of equipment in a space where neither is spare. It also means the patient is off the ground, which matters for assessment, for warmth and for the backs of the people working the casualty.

Two constraints to design around: this is a rolling device, so the route matters more than the distance — stairs, soft ground and rubble are a carry, not a roll — and it ships freight on a pallet, so receiving needs somewhere to take a pallet.
