HAWK™ Advanced Hypothermia Management Set
Active heat above, passive insulation below. Air-activated warming cells generate heat with no battery, no cable and no external source, and the Mylar-lined APLS Life Guard Litter both reflects the casualty's own heat back and breaks the conductive path to cold ground. One package, ready to deploy at the point where a casualty gets packaged for movement.

Heat put on top of a casualty who is still lying on frozen ground is heat you are donating to the ground. The litter is not the accessory here.

What's Included

One set per package, single configuration. Two components ship together — the warming element and the litter. Tap to open.

Hypothermia prevention is the H in MARCH and follows control of life-threatening hemorrhage. When to begin warming, how the warming element is positioned relative to skin, and how the casualty is monitored are clinical decisions under your protocol — this page describes the equipment, not the intervention.

▾Who Carries It

Combat medics and CLS teams holding casualties through prolonged field care when medevac is delayed · Cold-weather and mountain units where ground conduction is the dominant heat loss · Wilderness search and rescue operating with no electrical infrastructure for powered warming · Disaster and winter mass-casualty response, where exposure time before shelter is the problem · Training programs teaching hypothermia prevention with equipment that works in a field lane.

Hypothermia is one leg of the lethal triad in trauma and one of the more preventable ones. Recognising it, deciding to warm, and managing a casualty's temperature through the care and transport chain are clinical judgements made under your protocols and training. Nothing on this page states a temperature threshold, an indication or a treatment endpoint.
