What It Is

The i-gel is one of the most clinically studied supraglottic airway devices in emergency medicine. Launched in 2007, it uses a non-inflatable cuff of soft thermoplastic elastomer that molds to the perilaryngeal anatomy on insertion — creating a seal without inflating a cuff balloon.
