What is the difference between the IFAK Velcro Pouch 2.0 – Small and the Headrest Kit?
The Small and Headrest Kit use the same pouch body (8.5" × 6.5" × 3.5" with internal pouch, shock cord, and Velcro field). The Headrest Kit includes integrated adjustable straps for direct headrest post mounting. The Small does not include those straps and mounts via hook-and-loop or MOLLE surfaces instead; headrest mounting of the Small version requires purchasing a separate Headrest Velcro Panel accessory.
Is a tourniquet included with this pouch?
No. The IFAK Velcro Pouch 2.0 – Small ships as a pouch only, without tourniquet or medical supplies. The shock cord retention system at the bottom is designed to hold a separately purchased tourniquet in an externally accessible position. MED-TAC International offers CoTCCC-recommended tourniquets including the C-A-T® Gen 7 and SAM XT that are compatible with this retention system.
What surfaces can this pouch mount to?
The pouch mounts to any hook-and-loop (Velcro) compatible surface, MOLLE platforms with an adapter, and flat vehicle surfaces. Common mounting locations include vehicle center consoles, door panels, behind-seat panels, and cargo area organizers with loop-field backing. For headrest mounting, a separate Headrest Velcro Panel accessory is required.
How can the front Velcro field be used?
The 6" × 8.5" front Velcro loop field can hold medical identification patches, first aid instruction cards (tourniquet application steps, wound packing reference), morale patches, or small hook-and-loop compatible accessory pouches. It provides a functional, visible surface for mission-critical information or small secondary items that need to be accessible without opening the main compartment.
What can fit inside the main compartment and internal pouch?
The main compartment (8.5" × 6.5" × 3.5") can accommodate a compact IFAK's worth of supplies: hemostatic gauze, emergency bandage, chest seal, gloves, and other flat-packed trauma items. The internal pouch (8" × 7" × 2") provides organized secondary storage for smaller items like a permanent marker, eye shield, and nasopharyngeal airway. The clamshell opening exposes both compartments simultaneously.
