A compact, MOLLE-mountable trauma kit for working-dog teams. It carries canine-relevant items — petrolatum gauze and a digital veterinary thermometer — alongside a full human hemorrhage and chest loadout built on the C-A-T® tourniquet, so a handler can work the dog or a person out of the same pouch.

Military working dog and police K-9 handlers carrying point-of-injury capability for the dog and for themselves · Tactical teams operating with a K-9 who need one pouch that answers either casualty · Search-and-rescue and detection teams working away from vehicles and veterinary support.

Mount the pouch on the side opposite your leash hand so it stays reachable — by you or by a teammate — while the dominant hand is managing the dog. Field care for a canine casualty is stabilization and transport to a veterinarian, not definitive treatment.

The K-9 Handler IFAK is built around CoTCCC-recommended devices for human trauma care — including the C-A-T® tourniquet and HyFin® Vent Chest Seal where included. It is the handler's personal TCCC kit, not a canine medical kit.

Does the K-9 Handler IFAK include canine medical supplies?

No. The K-9 Handler IFAK is configured for human trauma care. Canine medical supplies are covered by the K-9 Tactical Field Kit or K-9 RUF Medical Kit, which should be carried separately.

What is the recommended carry position for the handler IFAK?

Mount on the opposite side of the body from the leash hand to preserve access during handler-dog contact situations. Vertical MOLLE mounting on a plate carrier or horizontal duty-belt carry are both appropriate.
