A 73-gram prescription fingertip oximeter running Masimo SET® — the same signal-extraction architecture used in bedside monitors — with SpO₂, pulse rate, Perfusion Index, Pleth Variability Index and a Signal IQ® confidence indicator on a rotating colour display. This is part number 42-700, the configuration with no radio in it. It does not pair, trend, store or export.

What an SpO₂, Pi or PVi value means for a given patient, and what to do about it, is governed by your training, your protocol and your medical direction. Read before ordering: This part number has no radio and cannot be given one.

Read this before you order. Part number 42-700 has no Bluetooth. It will not pair with a phone or tablet, will not connect to the Masimo Professional Health or Masimo SafetyNet® applications, and will not trend, store, export or share session data. Documentation is manual: The provider reads the display and writes the value down. If your programme requires automated capture into a patient care record or a remote monitoring workflow, specify a connected device from another supplier — this one cannot be upgraded.

What makes Masimo SET® technology different from standard pulse oximetry?

Masimo SET® (Signal Extraction Technology) uses five parallel signal processing engines to separate arterial pulsatile signal from noise caused by motion and low perfusion — conditions that cause conventional oximeters to either give false readings or drop signal entirely. SET® is validated across over 200 million patient uses in ICUs, ORs, and emergency care, maintaining accuracy during movement, cold extremities, and low-perfusion states that defeat standard oximeters.

What additional parameters does the MightySat Rx measure beyond SpO₂?

Beyond SpO₂ and Pulse Rate, the MightySat Rx measures: Perfusion Index (Pi, 0.02–20%) — a proxy for peripheral perfusion and hemodynamic status; Pleth Variability Index (PVi®) — respiratory variation in the pulse waveform used to predict fluid responsiveness; and Respiration Rate from the Pleth (RRp, 4–70/min) — a non-invasive breathing rate from the pulse waveform. Signal IQ® provides a reading confidence indicator.

Does the MightySat Rx connect to a smartphone?

Yes. The Bluetooth LE model connects to the Masimo SafetyNet® app (iOS and Android), enabling trend data visualization, session storage, email sharing for remote clinical review, and integration with telehealth workflows. The app displays a high-resolution plethysmographic waveform and parameter trending over time.

Is the Masimo MightySat Rx an Rx-only device?

Yes. The MightySat™ Rx is classified as Rx only (prescription/practitioner requirement) in the United States. It is appropriate for clinical providers, emergency medical personnel, and healthcare professionals operating under provider supervision. It is compliant with UL 60601-1, IEC 60601-1, ISO 80601-2-61, and is CE marked for international use.

What is the battery life of the MightySat Rx?

The MightySat Rx operates on two standard 1.5V AAA batteries with an estimated life of approximately 1,800 spot-checks. AAA batteries are universally available and easily replaced in the field without charging equipment, making the device practical for extended deployment.
