How many casualties can the MCI-WALK® treat?

The MCI-WALK® is equipped to provide initial trauma treatment for up to 8 simultaneous casualties. It includes 8 C-A-T® Tourniquets, 8 HyFin® Vent Chest Seal Twin Packs, 8 Compressed Gauze rolls, 8 ETD Emergency Trauma Dressings, 5 Combat Gauze® hemostatic dressings, and 8 sets of gloves — plus 20 triage cards for casualty documentation.

What is the difference between the QuikLitter and Rigid MedEVAC Litter configurations?

The 8-QuikLitter configuration includes eight individual collapsible litters, one per casualty, enabling distributed simultaneous evacuation by multiple personnel or bystanders. The Rigid MedEVAC Litter configuration includes one full-size, quad-fold litter better suited for longer extractions or rough terrain where structural rigidity matters. Select based on your expected evacuation distance and team size.

Is the MCI-WALK® appropriate for law enforcement Rescue Task Force teams?

Yes. The MCI-WALK® is explicitly designed for RTF-style deployment where teams of two operators may need to treat 4–8 casualties in a warm zone before EMS has access. Its 8-casualty capacity, compact backpack form factor, and CoTCCC-recommended contents align with Hartford Consensus and TECC (Tactical Emergency Casualty Care) response doctrine.

Are the tourniquets in the MCI-WALK® CoTCCC-recommended?

Yes. The MCI-WALK® includes 8 C-A-T® (Combat Application Tourniquet®) in Black — a CoTCCC-recommended limb tourniquet and the Official Tourniquet of the U.S. Army. The Combat Gauze® LE hemostatic dressings are also CoTCCC-recommended for wound packing of junctional and extremity hemorrhage.

How is the MCI-WALK® carried and stored?

The MCI-WALK® is packaged in a rugged, configurable nylon backpack that can be worn during scene response or stored in a vehicle trunk. The bag features a large main compartment with organized medical storage and a separate litter compartment. Black and Red color options accommodate tactical low-visibility or high-visibility identification requirements.

Does the MCI-WALK contain CoTCCC-recommended items?

Yes. The kit includes C-A-T® Combat Application Tourniquets and HyFin® Vent Chest Seal Twin Packs, which are CoTCCC-recommended items for hemorrhage control and tension pneumothorax management.

What training is required to use the MCI-WALK?

All personnel who may deploy the MCI-WALK should complete at minimum a Stop the Bleed course covering tourniquet application, wound packing, and pressure dressings. Full RTF or TCCC-level training is recommended for the treating provider role. Contact NAR or your jurisdiction's training office for course options.

How does the QuikLitter configuration differ from the rigid MedEVAC?

The 8-QuikLitter build distributes one disposable litter with each treatment set so multiple two-person carry teams can move patients simultaneously. The 1-rigid MedEVAC litter build is for longer-distance extraction over irregular terrain where a rigid platform provides better patient protection.

Can the MCI-WALK be procured on a government contract?
