PRODUCT INFORMATION
North American Rescue · Non-Rigid Litter
Rapid Expeditionary Evacuation Litter (Non-Rigid)
A full-sized nylon non-rigid litter that vacuum-packs to a 13" × 10" × 0.75" cube and weighs 1 lb 3 oz, then opens to a 78" × 30" carry surface with eight ergonomically spaced handles. North American Rescue rates it to 700 lb and specifies 2-to-8-person carries. It is a soft litter: it moves a casualty, it does not immobilize one.
700 lb rated capacity1 lb 3 oz (538 g)8 handles · 2–8 carriersPacks to 0.75" thick

A litter that lives in the bag gets used; a litter that lives in the supply room gets inventoried. The R.E.E.L. trades rigidity for the one thing that decides whether a litter is present at all — cube.

What's Included

This is a single-component litter, not a stocked kit. It ships vacuum-sealed in a low-cube pouch. Tap a section for what is in the package and how the litter is configured.

VIEW ▾In the Box — litter only — no harnesses or straps included
  • 1× Rapid Expeditionary Evacuation Litter (R.E.E.L.), rugged lightweight nylon, non-rigid
  • Vacuum-sealed low-cube pouch — packaged dimensions 13" L × 10" W × 0.75" D
  • Eight integrated carry handles, ergonomically spaced along the litter body
  • No carry harness, backboard, straps or medical supplies are included — carry harnesses and rigid platforms are sold separately
VIEW ▾Deployed Configuration — dimensions, capacity and carry positions
  • Open carry surface 78" L × 30" W — one of the widest non-rigid litters North American Rescue offers
  • Carrying capacity 700 lb as rated by North American Rescue
  • Eight handles support 2-person through 8-person carries; scale the carry team to patient weight and terrain
  • Non-rigid construction deploys faster and stores smaller than a framed litter
  • Provides less patient immobilization than a rigid litter — North American Rescue directs pairing with a rigid platform where spinal immobilization or long-duration transport is required
  • Total deployed weight added to the carry: 1 lb 3 oz (538 g)

▾Who Carries It

Expeditionary and dismounted military teams that cannot budget the weight or cube of a rigid pole litter but still need an engineered carry platform · MCI and mass-gathering staging where litter count matters more than litter rigidity and storage space is finite · Facility and campus caches pre-positioning evacuation capability per wing or per floor rather than in one central store · Air-assault and vehicle-borne elements staging CASEVAC capability in crew space or a door pocket.

This is a patient-movement device, not an immobilization device. It applies no spinal motion restriction. Where a spinal injury is suspected and a rigid platform is operationally available, use the rigid platform. Train the carry from the actual handle positions before fielding it — balanced two-person carry on a 78" surface is a learned skill, not an obvious one.
