One of the most widely deployed individual bleeding-control kits in the United States, and the foundation of bleeding-control programs in schools, workplaces, stadiums, transit hubs and government buildings. At 15 oz in a high-visibility red nylon bag it fits AED cabinets, wall cases, supply shelves and vehicle compartments. Hemorrhage is the leading cause of preventable trauma death, and the national median EMS response time is about 7 minutes (Mell 2017). This kit exists to put a tourniquet in a bystander's hands inside that gap.

Nothing in any tier is prescription-restricted or requires a scope-of-practice authorization.

Mount it at eye level, labeled, within a few seconds' walk of the highest-occupancy area of the floor, and inspect monthly — hemostatic dressings and the survival blanket carry expiration dates.

Which variant is right for a school Stop the Bleed® program?

The Basic variant (80-0452) is the most commonly deployed in school programs — it includes a C-A-T® tourniquet, ETD, wound packing gauze, gloves, shears, blanket, marker, and JIT card. Schools with trained staff or SROs often upgrade to the Intermediate (adds HyFin® chest seal) or Advanced (adds CoTCCC-recommended Combat Gauze).

Is the C-A-T® tourniquet in this kit CoTCCC-recommended?

Yes. The C-A-T® tourniquet included in all variants is CoTCCC-recommended as the primary tourniquet for extremity hemorrhage control. The Advanced variants also include CoTCCC-recommended hemostatic gauze (Combat Gauze or Celox Gauze).

What is the difference between nylon and vacuum-sealed versions?
