A safety spectacle with a removable flame-resistant foam gasket that seals the frame to the face — closer to a goggle's perimeter coverage without a goggle's bulk or heat. 26.3 g, 9.5 base curve for wrap-around side coverage, scratch-resistant polycarbonate lens with 99% UV protection. The gasket is the whole product. Without it this is another safety spectacle; with it, the gap along the brow and cheek that lets splash in is closed — and it comes off when the heat does not justify it.

What makes the Pyramex Proximity different from standard safety glasses?

The gasket is made from a combination of nylon and EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) foam, providing both comfort and flame-resistance.

Are the Pyramex Proximity glasses ANSI rated for high-impact protection?

The Pyramex Proximity meets ANSI Z87.1 and CSA Z94.3 safety standards for eye protection. Some lens/frame combinations also carry CE EN 166 certification. Can the Pyramex Proximity be worn over prescription glasses?

The Pyramex Proximity is designed as a primary eyewear safety spectacle, not as an OTG (over-the-glass) goggle. Slim co-injected temples may allow limited compatibility with thin prescription frames, but for reliable fit over prescription glasses, a purpose-designed OTG safety goggle is recommended. The 135 mm hinge-to-hinge width provides a standard adult fit.
