What does RUF stand for?

RUF stands for the pack's design philosophy: a slim-profile (Reduced footprint), multi-casualty (Unlimited capability for a squad), Fast-access trauma pack. It is designed to carry a minimum of two complete IFAK sets in a bandolier-carry format that occupies minimal space and weight on the operator.

How does the RUF Pack's tear-away panel system work?

The RUF Pack contains two identical internal tear-away panels, each pre-loaded with a complete set of IFAK contents. During casualty care, a panel can be torn away from the pack and handed to a patient or non-medical team member for self-aid, or used by the medic to treat a second casualty simultaneously while retaining the second panel for a third. This system effectively allows the medic to distribute equipment to multiple patients quickly without managing individual pouches.

Does the RUF Pack include a litter?

The RUF Pack includes an internal shock cord panel specifically designed to hold a compact soft litter — such as a QuikLitter™ LITE. Whether a litter is included depends on the specific variant purchased. Confirm litter inclusion with the product variant description at time of purchase, as the Basic configuration may not include a litter in the base configuration.

Is the RUF Pack MOLLE compatible?

Yes. The sides of the RUF Pack include single rows of MOLLE webbing for attaching small pouches — tourniquet holders, scissor leashes, Breach pens, or similar accessories. The front surface is intentionally kept slick (non-MOLLE) to reduce snagging, with a large central velcro panel for ID patches and unit markings.

What is the difference between the Basic, Basic w/Combat Gauze, and Advanced RUF Pack configurations?

The Basic configuration carries base IFAK supplies (tourniquets, ETDs, gauze, chest seals, airway) across two sets without a dedicated hemostatic gauze. Basic w/Combat Gauze adds Combat Gauze® Z-Fold (CoTCCC-recommended) hemostatic dressings. The Advanced configuration builds on Basic w/Combat Gauze with advanced airway management, needle decompression, and additional hemorrhage control tools for providers with advanced trauma intervention training.

Does the RUF Pack Kit include CoTCCC-recommended items?

What training is recommended to carry and use the RUF Pack Kit?

TCCC Combat Lifesaver minimum; full TCCC All Service Member preferred. Components requiring advanced skills (NPA, ARS) require provider-level training.
