Is the Squad Responder Kit CoTCCC-recommended?

The Squad Responder Kit contains multiple CoTCCC-recommended items, including the Combat Application Tourniquet (C-A-T®), QuikClot Combat Gauze® hemostatic dressing, HyFin® Vent chest seals, ARS® needle decompression devices, and nasopharyngeal airway. The Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care recommends these specific products for prehospital hemorrhage control and life-threat management. How many casualties can the Squad Responder Kit treat?

The kit is designed to treat 2–4 casualties. It includes two C-A-T® tourniquets, two HyFin® Vent Twin Packs (four chest seals total), two ARS® needle decompression devices, two packs of Combat Gauze®, and multiple trauma dressings — providing enough redundancy to manage multiple simultaneous casualties until CASEVAC assets arrive.

How does the Squad Responder Kit compare to the US Army Combat Lifesaver (CLS) Kit?

North American Rescue designed the Squad Responder Kit as a direct improvement on the standard US Army CLS Kit. It uses higher-grade materials (1000D Cordura® nylon with ITW Nexus hardware), incorporates more current CoTCCC-recommended items like HyFin® Vent chest seals and ARS® needle decompression devices, and adds burn management and eye protection capabilities not always present in standard CLS issue. The MultiCam carrier offers better operational camouflage and a more organized compartment layout.

What type of bag does the Squad Responder Kit come in?

The kit is packaged in the NAR Squad Responder Bag in MultiCam pattern only. The bag is constructed from 1000 Denier Cordura® Solution-Dyed Nylon with sand- and water-resistant zippers featuring silent pulls, ITW Nexus hardware, and multiple attachment points. Packed dimensions are 14 × 14 × 5 inches at a total weight of 4 lb 14 oz.

Does the Squad Responder Kit include airway management supplies?

Yes. The kit includes one 28F Nasopharyngeal Airway (NPA) for basic airway management in unconscious or combative patients where a definitive airway is not immediately available. The NPA is a CoTCCC-recommended airway adjunct for Tactical Field Care and Tactical Evacuation Care phases when bag-mask or surgical airway is not indicated or feasible.
