North American Rescue · SRO Multi-Casualty Kit
SRO Crisis Response Kit
A single-casualty IFAK runs out fast when there are wounded in more than one room. This kit carries the depth for four: four CoTCCC-recommended C-A-T® tourniquets for four separate extremity bleeds, layered 4-inch, 6-inch and abdominal dressings for a range of wound sizes, four compressed gauze rolls, a HyFin® Vent twin pack, and five pairs of gloves for working patient to patient.
Up to 4 casualties4 × C-A-T® tourniquetsLayered dressing sizesStaged, not carried

In an active school incident the SRO is frequently the first and only armed responder on site for the opening minutes. The constraint is depth, not skill.

Kit Contents

One configuration, eleven line items, grouped by the phase each serves. This is a staged kit rather than a carried one — read the note on how to position it. Tap a section.

CoTCCC recommendation applies to the C-A-T® tourniquet and the HyFin® Vent chest seal. It does not extend to the compressed gauze, the ETDs, the microshields or the tools — the legacy listing named compressed gauze among the CoTCCC components, and that is incorrect. Read the capacity number carefully: four casualties is what the four tourniquets support. Thoracic coverage is one twin pack, so two seals, and there is no decompression capability at all — a fifth casualty, or a second chest wound past the twin pack, exceeds this kit. Tourniquet application, wound packing and chest-seal placement are perishable skills; this kit assumes the carrier has completed bleeding-control and active-threat casualty-care training and works within agency policy.

Who Carries It

School Resource Officers who need depth beyond their own IFAK when casualties are spread across adjacent rooms · School security staging a response kit in the building rather than in a vehicle · Trained school staff in an established bleeding-control programme, working within the training they actually hold · Cross-trained SRO teams drawing from one kit to treat in parallel.

Stage it separately from your individual kit. The point of a staged multi-casualty resource is that you already have your own kit on your person and can pick this one up on the way — keeping both in the same place means arriving at the scene with neither, or losing time going back for the second.
