Sterile Facial Laceration (Minor) Set
A face is not a limb. Thin skin, rich vascularity, eyes and nerves and the parotid duct close by, and a cosmetic outcome that matters for the rest of someone's life — all of which asks for finer instruments than a body-surface set. This 12 oz single-use pouch carries a Frazier skin hook, straight and curved iris scissors, satin-finished forceps and a Webster needle holder, with the sterile field included. Sutures staged separately. NAR ZZ-0683.
Fine-tissue instrumentsSatin finish — cuts glare12 oz · 3-year shelf lifeSutures not included

Every instrument in the set is satin-finished. Under a headlamp or tactical illumination, a polished instrument throws glare exactly where the provider is trying to look.

Kit Contents

One configuration, fourteen line items — instruments first, then the sterile field and consumables. Sutures are staged separately. Provider scope; read the specification note. Tap a section.

No item in this set carries CoTCCC recommendation status: the CoTCCC recommended-device list covers tourniquets, hemostatics and thoracic devices, and surgical instruments are not on it. The legacy listing answered the CoTCCC question by describing where wound closure sits in MARCH and prolonged field care, which is a different claim; it has been corrected here. Facial repair is a provider-scope skill above CLS level, and the assessment is the hard part: rule out underlying fracture, nerve injury and duct involvement before closing anything near the eye, the facial nerve or the parotid. The instruments in this set will also work a minor laceration elsewhere on the body — the facial designation describes the scale they are built for, not a restriction. This page describes contents and specifications; it is not procedural instruction.

Who Carries It

Aid-station and field providers who need fine instruments ready rather than borrowed from a body-surface tray · Expeditionary and remote medicine, where a facial wound left open for days is both an infection risk and a permanent cosmetic outcome · MCI providers pre-staging several sets so a team can work multiple casualties in parallel with no reprocessing delay · Provider-level training, as a standardized set for teaching facial closure.

Single-use is the operational feature here, not a limitation. Reprocessing fine instruments in the field is slow and imperfect, and a peel-open sterile pouch with a three-year shelf life can be staged and forgotten until the day it is needed. Stage sutures to your own preference and keep them with the set.
