What is the difference between the SIRK Gen 1 and SIRK Gen 2?

The SIRK Gen 2 includes two C-A-T® tourniquets (vs. one in Gen 1), a HyFin® Vent Chest Seal Twin Pack (vs. single seal in Gen 1), a Fox Eyeshield with garter, a Model 7 rescue hook, mini duct tape, a permanent marker, and a combat casualty card — making it a more complete resupply kit. The Gen 1 includes a polycarbonate eye shield and 6-inch ETD™ (vs. 4-inch in Gen 2). Both are vacuum-sealed and carry a C-A-T®, hemostatic gauze, NPA, and compressed gauze.

Is ChitoGauze® PRO different from standard ChitoGauze®?

Yes. ChitoGauze® PRO contains a higher concentration of chitosan compared to standard ChitoGauze®, providing enhanced hemostatic performance in laboratory and field testing. Both are CoTCCC-recommended chitosan-based hemostatic dressings. ChitoGauze® PRO is recommended for higher-volume bleeding scenarios where maximum hemostatic performance is required.

Can the SIRK Gen 1 resupply any standard military IFAK?

Yes. The SIRK Gen 1's H 7 × W 5 × D 2 in. dimensions and vacuum packaging allow it to fit inside most standard military IFAK pouches (EAGLE IFAK, RIG Series, etc.) or a large BDU cargo pocket. The contents can also be removed from the vacuum seal and distributed individually to resupply a depleted kit or multiple partially-depleted kits.

Does the SIRK Gen 1 include an eye shield?

Yes. The SIRK Gen 1 includes a polycarbonate eye shield for blast or fragment eye injury protection. This item is carried forward from military TCCC doctrine and helps address ocular injuries that are common in blast and fragmentation casualties.
