How many casualties can the CERS-Rescue system treat?
The Rescue Kit provides supplies sized for up to four casualties: four tourniquet sets, four bandage sets, four NPA airway adjuncts, four casualty cards, and two HALO chest seal packages. The Foxtrot® DA Litter enables evacuation of at least one casualty per deployment. This multi-casualty capacity makes the CERS-Rescue specifically suited for designated RTF medics responsible for treating multiple downed responders or civilians within the warm zone.
What is the Foxtrot® DA Litter included with the Rescue kit?
The Foxtrot® DA (Dual-Attachment) Litter is a compact, deployable casualty evacuation litter designed for tactical environments. It stores on the exterior of the Signature Series Med-Pack for immediate access and deploys rapidly for single- or multi-operator drag/carry operations. The inclusion of the Foxtrot® litter in the CERS-Rescue reflects the medic's dual mission of treating casualties and beginning evacuation without waiting for additional personnel or dedicated evacuation equipment.
Does the CERS-Rescue meet NFPA 3000™ medic-level requirements?
Yes. The TacMed™ Critical Event Response System – Rescue is designed to meet and exceed NFPA 3000™ standards for both individual responder and rescue-level competencies. The Rescue configuration addresses multi-casualty treatment, casualty evacuation, personal protection, and TCCC documentation requirements. Agencies building out NFPA 3000™-compliant RTF programs can specify the CERS-Individual for patrol-level responders and the CERS-Rescue for designated tactical medics.
Can the CERS-Rescue be customized for specific agency needs?
Yes. TacMed™ offers customization of the CERS packages in additional color options and with modified kit contents to meet specific agency requirements. It can be worn independently as a backpack when the operator needs to remove the carrier (e.g., during extended medical operations or when transitioning from an active threat zone to a casualty collection point) while retaining access to the medical supplies and litter.
